9時前起床、のろのろと荷物をまとめて、空港へ、そして、岡山へ。生きる気力の無いおばあちゃんが足折って、入院して、このまま歩けなくなるかも、という状況で、おかんは泣き通し。これは、もう、おかんももたないだろうと思って、なにかしら、心配ごとを減らしてあげるとか、車の運転をしてあげるとか、今の僕にも手伝えることがあるだろうと思って、突如、内緒で帰省した。
うちに着いたのが、18時半くらいかな。そっと玄関のドアを開けて、居間のドアを開けたら、夫婦並んで座って、仲良くごはんを食べてて、僕を見てびっくりした顔してて、うけたww びっくりしたろう、ざまあみろ、助けにきたぜww
っていっても、具体的にどう助けるかなんて、別に考えてない。まあ、僕がいるだけで、だいぶ違うだろう、ていうのはあるから、あとは成り行きでおｋ。帰りのヒコーキのチケットはとってない。
10月も休職することを決めたことは、必然的だったんだ。こうして、家族を助けるための時間として用意されてたんだ。妻にも、妻一人きりの時間を与えてあげられることになった。一人きりの不安もあるだろうけど（ごめんね）、僕の世話から離れて、のびのびと、自由に、なにかやったりやらなかったりして、息抜きしてもらえたらいいな。ほんと、いつも僕は、タイミングがいいな、と思う。
おばあちゃんは、いきなり環境が大きく変わって、足を固定されて動けない状態で、自分の状況が分からず、認知症が一気にすすんでいるそうな。おばあちゃんちの猫も、ストレスで食欲が無くて、ぼろ雑巾のようになっているらしい。成り行きにまかせつつも、両親をふくめ、少しでも彼らを安らかな気持ちにしてあげられれば、嬉しいな。おばちゃんも奮闘してるみたいだし。

I couldnt find (on YouTube)what Im thinking of as my favorite version of A Mighty Fortress. I like lots of brass (an orchestra is good), a pipe organ, and a choir. I was surprised that the YouTube version I liked best was rock!! (because it had the most spunk).

I dont thing any young pianist has the potential to overwhelm with the Faust transcription or else I dont think they would be in this competition. Outside of an extreme few performances captured in the past century of the work, more often than not performers have a tough time holding the piece together and in the end, all we really want to hear is the excitement at the end. But I must give our pianist credit for really trying to be imaginative and playful in the middle section.
